Ok, last night I had dinner with my BF, I used his bathroom, and I didn't rummage through his garbage, I KNOW what Ulta shop bags are, well, he bought shampoo. So then today I had to get going home, I remembered I needed laundry soap and pulled into the Walmart parking lot that shares with a strip mall, guess whos car was parked by Ulta again? Yup HIs. WTF????

I'm not clear here. Don't they sell stuff for men at Ulta too?

I know for sure they sell stuff for gay guys there, I'm always seeing lots of them there when I go, buying shampoo and such. I used to be a hairdresser, and all my gay hairdresser guy pals used to love to shop there.

Yes, they sell guy stuff too, but to go twice in 2 days? Really?

Nicole, I have to admit - I was teasing you. I can see you are worried your boyfriend may be gay, and so I was kind of pulling your leg there. I'm sorry, that wasn't very nice of me.

How long have you been together with him? How old is he? Has he had only girlfriends prior to you? I assume he is straight, otherwise he wouldn't be with you.

Am I missing something here? How about this 'metro sexual' phenomenon? Guys are more concerned with their eyebrows being neat and orderly nowadays, I notice, than they were years ago. Could it just be something along those lines? A Jersey Shore kinda hygeine and hair gel type mentality that is so prevalent nowadays? Does he watch those types shows? Do his friends wax their eyebrows? What are his friends mostly like?

Yes, this is 20 questions my dear! lol

Maybe he forgot to buy something or didn't realize he'd run out of something. Why didn't you go into the store and surprise him? That's what I'd have done.

Don't know a guy that will go to Ulta for shampoo stuffs.

Never, ever, ever. I don't get the Metro-Sexual B.S. either.

Every straight guy, friend or acquaintance, bought that stuff at the grocery store or WalMart. If they are in a relationship, they used hers or she would get something she wanted him to use.

Believe your sixth sense is right here.

Me either. Didn't even know something like it existed. Until.....

I helped a buddy pick some stuff up at HD and he wanted to swing by to see a woman that was trying to get with him.

Still can't wrap my head around it's a real place.

Seriously? I'm not exactly sure what the problem is here? He went to Ulta twice in the span of two days? Ok...and? Is it because he is going to Ulta? Or the fact he was there twice in two days? Because I honestly don't see an issue with either one. And really...people are jumping to the "he's gay" conclusion. Some of you need to get out more.

It never crossed my mind at all that he was gay. I honestly "jumped to the conclusion" that he was hitting on a girl there because I just don't know any straight guys that would go there unless they were into someone that worked there.

It's simple...he's digging someone who works there.

Same here.

But I want to side with this, even without much knowledge of the place in question. Maybe he just likes the shampoo/products?

I was referring a little bit more to earlier in the thread...but either way I'm not sure I would think he was hitting on someone that was working there. Perhaps I'm being naive here but I tend to frequent the same stores several times during the week depending upon what I need. Not because I am hitting on people that work there. I just tend to think if going to Ulta twice in two days brings up questions on your boyfriends trustworthiness then there might be something else going on that would cause uncertainty to begin with.

Maybe he was looking for a present for you. Now, don't you feel bad?!

Maybe the second trip was to return something bought on the first trip? or to buy more of the thing bought on the first trip having decided that it was good? Or buying the thing seen-but-not-bought on the first trip?

Never heard of the store. What do they sell?

Here in Texas they sell all kinds of shampoo, conditioner, makeup, nail polish, perfume, curling irons, hair dryers, - all female oriented stuff that I can recall. I could be wrong, it could have changed, it's been a while. It was always women there 15 years ago but back then, men didn't wax their eyebrows either, so times have changed I know. Maybe men go there now since now some men do the eyebrow thing and some get manicures now too I hear. I blame Jersey Shore for so much of this.

It's like Sephora - a mecca of beauty products, fragrances, etc. But there is a men's section as well.

The one's we have here in NY have a hair/nail salon in the back, the higher end hair products, flat irons, blow dryers, curling irons, but in the front it's like a glorified drug store. Your standard stuff you'd find in any CVS, Walgreens, Duane Reade, etc. So a guy can go get his razors, blades, shaving cream, soaps, whatever.

No one really knows why he went. Maybe he forgot something he needed to get, maybe he loves taking care of his personal appearance, maybe he's saying hi to a friend... the speculations are endless here. Why don't you just ask him? "Hey was driving by ULTA today and saw your car! What are you doing shopping there?!" And see what he says.

Great advice. Cheers!:)

I don't know why, but my Antenne just shot up when I saw his car there. He is not gay. Just something struck me odd.

No. Not at all. He is a guys guy. That is why it struck me so odd that he was at Ulta, not only once, but twice in two days, I forgot to mention earlier, when I left Walmart, his car was still there, and when he called me oh, half hour later, he said he was at Ulta.

I don't know why something so random caused me to think 'Uh oh', I've never cheated and I don't believe he has. We live 100 miles apart right now, maybe I'm just being insecure. But, he does get hit on alot. The thing is, Ulta? A Beauty Supply Store? And to answer your question, yes, many of the girls working there I think are pretty.
