headphones1 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I had a pretty good job that I lost back in January(I was actually miserable but the money was good). Since then I've only managed land gigs that pay about 50 - 60% of what I was making before. My bills are paid but that's about it. I haven't found work in my field so now I'm thinking of doing something else where I'll be happier. Not sure what that is yet though. Conventional dating wisdom says that women are very turned off by men in this situation, so am I doomed? Can I still find someone even though I don't have the plan laid out yet? I feel frustration and discouragement inside when I read a lot of dating advice. They all say basically the same things: be confident, don't be a dbag, stay in shape, be interesting, listen, make her laugh, have goals/direction, etc. seems easy in theory, but I'm currently missing two key ingredients. I wish I could just make a decision and jump.
Arabella Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 You will definitely find dating prospects, but you will have to adjust your expectations as well. If you expect to date a woman with a career of her own, that might not happen. Birds of a feather flock together... -A
The Tallest One Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I have a good paying job, but have financial problems and it's a huge detrement in dating. Therefore I have put dating aside for the time being until my finances and life in general are improved. Women in most cases no matter how nice and sweet they are, need financial security and won't stay with a man who is struggling. Just lost a gf because of this very reason. Plus don't settle for anyone just because of money or job issues. Just focus on yourself for a while!
habs53 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I have dated 3 nice woman in the last few months, not one cared about money.
GLDheart Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 IMO, you are making too much of it. Just enjoy "her" company. Iron out your plan. I think most more mature woman weed out the losers ie. Ones that want to sponge off of them... The dead weight, if you will. As long as you pass that standard you will be fine.
