Pyrannaste Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 - Never skip meals for whatever reason. - have a decent breakfast (only coffee is NOT a decent breakfast! ) - instead of having three meals a day have six or eight.... of course eating the same amount of calories. - do sport regularly. or walk at least half an hour a day. I heard that proteins, caffeine and spices raise your metabolism, but I think that even if it is true eating big amount of them will be more bad than good to your health. Also, I heard that smoking cigarettes raises metabolism a little. It also gives you lung cancer, asthma, breathing problems, heart problems and bad breath. So it's not worth it. I'm going to light a Marlboro now.

johan Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Regular, sustained aerobic exercise at just below your anaerobic threshold. And 4 to 5 small meals per day, as opposed to 2 big ones. As far as the exercise goes, you can judge the right pace by the following: you should be breathing hard enough that it's uncomfortable but not impossible to carry on a conversation.
