He now tells me I am free to call her and talk so that I can be certain they are not together and have not been together for a long time. I am quite a paranoid, non trusting person and I am now thinking he is telling her what to tell me. But I do not see the reason. He gave me her number and I know it is real. I also know what she sounds like so I am certain I will talk to her. Has anybody had a similar experience in the past? I am so confused...

Your situation seems a bit strange with MM living with you (if I got that right) but returning to his W's home for several nights at a time. I have no idea what the R between the two of them is or whether the W will tell the truth, but you could call her and see if you get answers and explanations that make sense to you. This shows what sucks so much about affairs and triangles, that you have to worry about this, but unless you are ready to simply walk away, you might as well try to get some information about what the situation is with respect to the three of you.
