Women do you really like men with a great sense of humor?

Been talking with this lady who has a wicked sense of humor, we texted most of the night tonight while I was working, and literally it was probably the most insane conversation I've had with someone in a long time.

Nothing we were saying to one another made sense but it was the humor that kept us going into the wee hours with a couple serious messages here and there.

But can a sense of humor turn you onto a guy?

Yes, it can. After all, "laughter is the best medicine." Bonus points for a sexy laugh and a megawatt smile.

Having said that, he can't just be "funny," he has to be my kind of "funny." I suspect that for many women (and men), that's also the case -we're individuals and it's unlikely that we'll all find the same things funny.

I think that a shared sense of humour suggests a shared outlook in life and possibly shared values. It's a good way of building rapport.

However, I'm not sure how much a shared sense of humour would outweigh any incompatibility. I suspect, not much, depending on the incompatibility.

In my experience, the humour also needs to be balanced with a serious side. I can't stand being with someone who made light of every single occasion. Sometimes, it's just downright disrespectful to laugh. I'd also wonder if the humour was being used as a facade to sweep things under the carpet.

yes, but only after we've been turned on by his bank account statement and his wallet.

I like someone with a sense of humor, but as 1-01 said, it has to be my type of humor. If he's going around making fart jokes and putting people down, I'm not interested.

Yes, a clever sense of humor that makes me laugh...can make an average guy above average. But, if that's all he has..pretty soon it gets stupid.

Humor is so subjective; who's to say what is funny? I briefly dated the manager of a well-known comedy club in SoCal (where Jay Leno and Robin Williams would go practice) and having to sit through stand-up comedians ruined the genre for me since I learned how contrived and practiced it is. Years later, I was taken on a first date to a comedy club and the guy was really offended because I sat there all evening and didn't laugh.

There are as many brands of humor as there are styles of food and I always hated OLD profiles that said things like, "must have a sense of humor." Well, humor is specific to the human race and it is unlikely that there is a person on this earth that doesn't laugh at SOMETHING.

First ^ who's there.

Ok now that I got that out of the way.

She was like I have a hard time finding someone that can handle my style of humor, so I showed her I was game, and akin to her style of humor. Wierdest conversation I've had in years with someone, just total off the wall comments that would make no sense to anyone, but it was like we were playing off one another's remarks and were just flowing with it.

I felt relaxed and happy I could be my weird self, and she wasn't judging me, because she's just as weird as I am. And a looker to boot :)
