PrinceCharmingWanted Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 I'm bored and thought I'd ask a stupid question. Just the other day I was at my bf's house and he wasn't there, yet! It was just me and his parents. We were all sitting in the living room talking about different subjects. One thing led to another and his mom broke out his baby pictures. I have always been so intimidated by his mom. I don't know why! His dad doesn't bother me the least little bit. I'm pretty comfortable around him. I guess you could say this was the first real convo. I have had with either of his parents. For the first time, I actually didn't feel so intimidated by her anymore. She got the albums out and started showing me pictures and telling me things he did or said when he was younger. She has never been rude or mean to me, but I just never knew what she thought of me. I felt like maybe this was a good sign... Her showing me his baby pictures. Is this not a sign of acceptance on her part? Maybe I'm just doing a little "wishful thinking"!! After all, it IS a total mom thing to do! Surely you don't just break out the baby pictures to anyone though, right!?
tattoomytoe Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 acceptance? i dunno...why would she NOT accept you? but reguardless her talking with you about her "baby boy" is a good thing. that way the two women in his life have a rapore with out dude having to be there. it also builds personal relations with you and his parents, which i guess you could say builds acceptance, but moreso it defines you as a person, not just the "girlfriend"
