avon20 Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Why do women want a commitment from a man? Also if a man does not commit to a woman then does she lose interest level in him over time? Which means once her interest drops he couldn't get her back even if later he is sincerely ready for a commitment and does not want to live without her?
Author avon20 Posted July 8, 2012 Author Posted July 8, 2012 I ask this because the only time I am ready to commit to a woman in a relationship is once she decides to leave me because I won't commit. I don't know why but this is the way I am. I don't want to be her boyfriend until she starts to pull back and walk away. By then it is too late. I am in the friend-zone. I actually end up making myself look more pathetic and push her away further when I start chasing her after telling her I am not ready for commitment.

Because women have a limited shelf life, every day she spends with you outside of a commited relationship wastes precious time. Say she's with you from 18-21 and you don't seal the deal, she has now wasted 3 of her 15 good years ( not to mention the fact that the earlier years are the most valuable ).

There are so many wrong statements in this argument, I don't know where to begin. Who is to say when a woman's "good years" are? From 18 to 21, I didn't know who I was or what I was good for. The earlier years are the most valuable? For what? Maybe baby-making but that's about it. Women - and Men - do not have a limited shelf life. You are whacked on so many levels with this one...

After their late teens women begin declining physically, slowly at first and entering a freefall after mid 30s. In before the 40 and fabulous brigade, yes darling im sure you look good for your age and that every woman on LS constantly gets told she looks 17.
Author avon20 Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 I just read this article on Yahoo where this woman said that she is gradually falling out of love with her boyfriend of 3 years because he has not proposed to her in marriage. So if a man waits too long to propose she will say no.
Algermas Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Dude: Not everybody dates for sport. Some folks date looking for a mate that is committed to a relationship or even marriage. Many women bail out when they see no commitment. You are likely insecure and afraid to commit. Then, when you see her walking away you panic. You won't commit and at the same time do not want to let her go. Very typical of insecure folks. Men are afraid to commit. Women initiate the vast majority of ( for men ) extremely costly divorces. I wonder why they don't want to commit.
carhill Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Why do women want a commitment from a man? Essentially the same psychological reason a man wants to have sex with a woman. If feels good, is satisfying and she feels desired and happy. Also if a man does not commit to a woman then does she lose interest level in him over time? Yep, pretty much the same as a man losing interest in a woman who is not sexual with him. Which means once her interest drops he couldn't get her back even if later he is sincerely ready for a commitment and does not want to live without her? Therein lies one important general difference between men and women. Once a woman feels a man does not love or desire her, there is generally no going back. This is independent of his words or actions. It's how she feels. A man, OTOH, if rejected by a woman, generally feels no inhibitions to having sex with her later if she's willing. It doesn't matter to him that she rejected him. Different thought and emotional processes. You're probably wondering why I'm comparing commitment to sex....
Author avon20 Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 The only benefit of getting dumped for not committing to my girlfriend is no financial obligations to her. No kids together and no need to go to court to divide up assets.
