PoppyLove89 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 So for anyone who doesn't remember me...I'm the girl that was so heartbroken that I actually left the country in February to stay with my other half of the family in Germany. Well, the day before I left my ex made his new relationship official, he started seeing her four weeks after we split (kick in the balls)...anyway, they're still together and although it still makes me feel a bit queasy (because she's only 18 and he's 24)...I've come to accept it...a little. Anywhoo, five months later, I'm back in the UK and popped into my old work place tonight to see my friend. Who do I see? My ex and his new gf in a group of 4...as a spectator let me tell you, it all looked awkward as hell! There was no visible chemistry between them and as soon as he saw me his eyes were locked, he didn't have his usual angry expression on, it was more of a shocked/friendly expression (I reckon he knows I'm back due to the grapevine but I doubt he was expecting to see me - it's been since December since we last saw each other)...he even turned to watch me and my friend walk away the 2nd time we walked past. You know what? It didn't kill me as much as I thought it would! Sure my heart was racing and my stomach did that horrible dropping thing but I didn't cry and what's more, I didn't feel the need to! I've moved on sooo much!!!! I've come realise that the guy I was in love with is 'dead' and he's turned into someone completely different - even the way he was dressed tonight didn't look like him. His girlfriend? Well, she's nothing like me or his ex before me (he has a very definite type, we both look very similar). Whenever we hung out in a public place, he couldn't keep his hands off me somehow - hand on my knee, holding my hand, kissing me...laughing (we were best-friends as well as lovers) and with her? Nothing. The whole thing seemed awkward and I'm guessing my strut past didn't help haha!! I'm actually feeling fine and I'm so happy about this that I just had to share it
favoritepills Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 That's great! You did exactly what you should have done -- walk on by with your head held high. 2
