kahn2154 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I met a girl, she is moving in a month (and so am I) so this is defintely short term She was completely into me at first, we went on four dates, fooled around on the third. I'm 26, she's 20, I am completely new to dating. We went to see a movie, during it I grabbed her hand and put hand on thigh and she seemed receptive at first. I thought (from watching movies lol) this is what you are supposed to do. I think i make a huge mistake and grab her hand to hold at this point, she never squeezes, few minutes later goes to fix her hair and breaks it. She says she won't keep me any longer, says she has to get up at 7 am for work tomorrow, thanks me for movie and dinner and kisses me. Text her two days later and get nothing I ask her out for a specific day few days ago, she responds "I have to work!" I ask what is good for her "she says nothing until next week but don't know my schedule yet" I continue to hold out hope on the next week comment. Is there anything I can do? Can I ask her out one time sometime next week, then if she doesn't respond give me busy excuse again say something like "if you don't want to see me again just tell me no hard feelings, I know I made mistake with hand holding but I'm a social retard and not really great at this as you've noticed. I guess I was just following what I've learned from TV on going out..." I'vee already mentioned how I'm socially inept with her like 40x...we're both socially awkward, and tell her how I didn't know the guidelines for hand holding or something. Or just ask her to meet me in park for a few minutes and when is good for her to clear some air? Or something like "hey, are we cool? I'd like to see you again but getting the feeling I offended you or something and I would hate that" I get anyway probably sounds needy, but there isn't enough time to wait it out and I'd like to at least salvage a friendship out of this

I don't know what to tell you on that one, except that you should find a way in order to be more ... unsocially awkward. How is this done? Google it and find the answers.

I'm having trouble forgetting about it. I'm confused by second text, I've heard that if a girl is interested she'll offer an alternative which she kind of does, yet have people telling me she's not interested. I guess I just want to get some experience out of this to over come being socially awkward...
