YellowShark Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Cuz I have. Not because she wasn't the "right sign." It was because she believed in Astrology deeply, and let it control her life. I just couldn't date this woman who thinks planets and constellations tug on you and somehow affect your life. That's just crazy talk. And it turned me off, made me question her sanity. I mean if I fly a spaceship to the constellation Orion, I would realize it's not even there. There is no real constellation Orion sitting there occupying space. It's a connect-the-dot pattern of random stars dreamed up by ancient people... who, BTW, also thought the Earth was flat. Now I am totally ok with whatever you want to believe in, but for me Astrology was a deal-breaker. Anyone else experience this?
MrCastle Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I think astrology is pretty interesting. They are spot on with my sign description (scorpio) and sometimes, just for kicks I read my horoscope of the day at night, to see how accurate it was (not ahead of time to try and live my life by what the horoscope said) and again, pretty spot on. They also say my sign doesn't get along with Leos romantically and every chick i've met that's a leo, the relationship crashed and burned or never took off to begin with because we weren't compatible. I would never rule someone out over sign or anything like that, but it's funny how things work out sometimes. 1
somedude81 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 That's not really dumping somebody because of astrology, that's dumping somebody because they had some very strong belief that they think controlled their life. It would be the same thing if they were very into tarot cards or throwing bones. Like they had to read the bones first to determine what pants they should wear. 2
without Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 When I first read your thread I thought you dumped her because of "wrong" sign. lol No I haven't. I like astrology, the part where it describes each sign and these things. But I don't believe in everday horoscopes and etc. If she's very much ,like in a very bad way, involved with this, which affects her everyday life and interactions so much... Well that's sth to think about and maybe u're kind of right.

Do you believe in gold at the end of rainbows and the tooth fairy too?
Teal Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) I wouldn't mind if someone was interested in it, but as soon as something like that becomes a dictating factor in their life or their relationships I just don't feel comfortable with that person. Religion is a little different depending on the ethics it's teaching them and their treatment of it, but between that and people who think that telepathically talking to grass is a valid source in an argument, the supernatural and the spiritual are a pretty big problem area in dating to me at times. SmileFace Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Eh, people dump people due to strong beliefs all the time.

Snakechammah Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Standing up for all the ladies (and gents) who do believe in Astrology and are labelled Astro Freaks.... If a guy dumps/or distance himself from me because I believe in something very strongly, obviously he isn't the one for me. It doesn't matter if it's astrology, animal advocacy, computer games or bellydancing. If he loves me, he would love everything about me. If he doesn't, well too bad - we move on. Then again, we astro freaks have already seen it coming...
MrCastle Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Do you believe in gold at the end of rainbows and the tooth fairy too? Yeah. [10 char]
daphne Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Nope. But I sure wish I had! As long as I live I'll never date another Aries male again. There I said it. NEVER. Selfish bastards.
EasyHeart Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Nope. But I sure wish I had! As long as I live I'll never date another Aries male again. There I said it. NEVER. Selfish bastards. WE ARE NOT SELFISH!!!! We're just ridiculously awesome.

Not astrology but in the same vein someone passionate about their religion wouldn't get a date with me.
Author YellowShark Posted July 8, 2012 Author Posted July 8, 2012 Nope. But I sure wish I had! As long as I live I'll never date another Aries male again. There I said it. NEVER. Selfish bastards. But that is absolutely ridiculous thinking daphne. Since "Aries males" are an imaginary subset of men. There *IS* no real constellation in space that you can go to called "Aries." It's made up. By ancient Babylonians. Doesn't really exist. So to think that all men born between the middle of March and the middle of April are ALL THE SAME - (and you wont date them) - is exactly why I dumped the "astrology" girl. Making real-life decisions in 2012 based upon ancient Babylonian mysticism is wack. Standing up for all the ladies (and gents) who do believe in Astrology and are labelled Astro Freaks.... Then again, we astro freaks have already seen it coming... Animal advocacy, computer games, and bellydancing ARE REAL. Astrology IS NOT real. That's the difference. So I wouldn't dump someone who believes in something *real* but I did dump someone who believed in something that is not real. If Astrology was real - which it isn't - then all twins would lead exactly the same lives. Why? Because they are born under the same sign, at the same time, in the same place.. Therefore - (according to Astology) - all twins should lead exactly the same lives, and have the same future. Which we all know they don't. ^^ Shallow...Many people use these types of things to help find answers that aren't always slap in the face obvious. 3 people are douche bags. I'm a pisces and you can all go to hell . You might as well look for answers in you own craps Snowman. You'd have a better chance of finding answers there than in Astrology. And YOU ARE NOT a Pisces because there *is* no constellation Pisces. You can't go visit it, it doesn't exist. It's not there. It is a random connect-the-dot pattern made up by ancient Babylonians.
