I had a lot of men lie about their height, post misleading pictures...That's just how online is, it's not really specific to one gender.

I've heard height is the most common thing men lie about.

I came across another one I had forgotten about this morning. "Any guy who wants to be with me needs to be secure in himself, and not jealous, cause I have a lot of guy friends" SO.......

"I have a lot of guy friends" = I am an attention whore, and have a collection of men to fill each of my emotional and physical needs. Yes I know they aren't likely banging all of them, but they ARE likely banging 1 or 2, and ALL of them would if they could. All but 1 of this woman's pics were in a bikini.

The scary part is that these 'profiles' existed long before OLD or the internet or computers ever did, back when we were socialized to view women as sugar and spice and everything nice :D

Don't be fooled by the bikini pictures, she could be hiding a roast beef sandwich down there.

I agree, but

A) the thread is really about women's OLD profiles, not men's, and

B) I bet you never had any men who were pregnant. ;) I rather think that trumps a few missing inches on height!

Not in a woman's mind. I feel bad for any man under 5'9. Women are brutal with the short thing, and there is no fix for short. In the American woman's mind short ranks up there with leprosy, and cleft pallet. I'll prolly get flamed for this, but I think pregnant chicks are sexy. lol

Hops up in the air waving arms hoping to be noticed!

5'8" :)

The thing that does kinda suck is the majority of single women my own age that I meet and am interested in tower over me in heels even though their shorter than me.

It bugs them I guess.

Me not so much.

But, my experience tells me its more of a status thing than an attraction thing because I have hooked up with women taller than me & I have had them tell me they prefer to date guys taller than them so they can wear high heels.

They say it's a security thing. I am 6'03, so this is a discrimination I have not had to endure, but that's what I'm told. My Grandfather was like 5'6 or 5'7, was Army Special Forces, fought in 3 wars, and could take down most men even at 80 years old, so that doesn't really stand up.

I agree with you there.

It's just a lame excuse to not have to say they are attracted to only tall guys.

I can really care less. There are plenty of women out there in the 5'3" range that don't require a 6ft + guy.

I had a date with a woman who had failed to mention that she needed a stick to walk because of a neurological condition (and my profile was fairly big on wanting a partner who I could go hiking with etc), and another one where she had failed to mention that she was pregnant. I kinda felt sorry for the first one, but with the second one I was more like "wtf?"

I think you do win the prize for the pregnant girl date!! Although missing an eye, Tourette's Syndrome, covered in tattoos, and cerebral palsy date got me laughing pretty hard as well! :)

What is wrong with people? Seriously, the lying by omission does not work to their benefit, but they think it does. There are many delusional folks out there I suppose. What a world we live in. Best of luck to all the honest folks who throw their hat in the ring for the online dating experience. Cheers! :)

Oh there was the 40 yr old woman who wore nice dresses in her profile but showed up dressed like an 80's hairband groupie.

Eh, for the most part, I am just that. ;)

Ah, the classic bait 'n switch!

I'm a man and I'm nothing like the guys who hate on women in these threads. You're just depriving yourself of companionship

Although I do agree with Algermas about female vs male standards. He does have a fair point when he says that women feel it's perfectly fine to worship Brad Pitt but guys are shallow and insensitive for preferring that women be in extremely good shape....never mind the fact that Brad Pitt's level of physical fitness is outrageous

Most of this thread is nonsense though

I don't worship Brad Pitt, and I'm fine without the companionship right now.

Most of this thread expresses exactly the point you just agreed with. Are you on this site to try and get laid? There are sites for that. These women in this thread are the very ones that post the things we are making fun of. That's why they get all butt hurt. The post was originally about poking a lil fun, till the panties got in a wad. It's OK to depict men as useless idiots, but God forbid you point out flaws in the bearers of the golden vajayjay.

Who said I post those things? I didn't say that at all.

You didn't have to. My Grandma always said "A hit dog always hollers".

It's either that or you're pulling on my pigtails. (I don't really have pigtails)

No, but you do have something else that you can pull.

I posted because I was annoyed. It's one thing if people are lying in their profiles, but some people are genuine.

I think you just enjoy engaging me in debate. Because you like me.:D

Ya know, i'm big on hiking & camping & overnight hikes & I actually asked this in emails & later I meet the women & they are total girly girls who think camping is a motel room without air conditioning.

I just don't understand why their still meeting me?

Yup. I'm a serious hiker/camper/mountain biker too, and I had the same issue many times. These are the same people who think that hiking is a 30-minute walk in the woods with flip-flops or cotton socks and sneakers on their feet.

LOL. This topic is great. I was wondering the same thing as I notice almost all females profile seem to say the same thing.

Especially when it comes to travel. Where I'm from it's like 95% of all female profiles list traveling as an interest.

"I've travel to many places in the past."

"I love to travel and you should too."

"I'm planning on where I like to travel next."

And it goes on and on. I'm sitting here wondering what's with all this travel nonsense. I'm looking to date not take someone to travel. Why the hell should I blow my money on someone I just barely met. Heck do these women realistically think I'm just going to postpone my current job to go traveling with them?

Oh and lastly I love that every single female profiles seem to say they all have a great job, great profession, or love their job, or a have a good one.

It's like there are no low income female users at all on a "free dating site."

Funny. :D Because it is true. I am a guy and a few I experienced were:

1. (On a 2nd date) Uhhh... Remember when I told ya I was separated and divorcing.. well my EX is being released from prison for dealing coke and has no place to stay, so he's gonna stay with me for a bit. Is that a problem?

2. (On a first date, she walks up and my mouth drops - in a bad way) Oh... those pictures are a couple years old. I've had both arms and legs covered in tattoos since then. Is that a problem?

3. (On a first date) What happened to my marriage? I cheated. Is that a problem?

4. (20 minutes after meeting.) Let's go out to my van and F___. Is that a problem?

5. (On a first date, barely recognized her) Oh.. My profile picture? It was in the Dominican, I think that trip was in 2003. Is that a problem?

Oh, wow. So, did you go out to the van? :D

The pregnant woman does win the prize for non-disclosure, that's for sure.

My take on ALL of this, including decoding the female OLD profile to stay on topic, is that you need to cut to the chase and meet ASAP. Some people take great liberties with how they describe themselves. To me, any profile was mostly meaningless jibber-jabber until I met the person who wrote it. I never took any of it very seriously.
