Author irc333 Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Since when you do you have to eat organic to lose weight? "Organic" is just a fad. Kind of a yuppy thing really.
Mme. Chaucer Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 "Organic" is just a fad. Kind of a yuppy thing really. Your opinion. Some of us make an effort to buy foods that are not treated with toxic chemicals, and "certified organic" is one way to know. But I don't think one "needs" to eat organic food to eat healthy. There seems to be kind of a bizarre disconnect about "older women." One group feels like all women are just trash when they're older, at least with regards to their sexuality and capacity to be an attractive human being. The other group is claiming that "age means nothing" and posts pictures of either profoundly "enhanced" people or genetic and physical anomalies to prove it. Both groups worship youth equally, IMO. The truth is that age does mean something. Our bodies are aging. Our skin is not the same as a young persons' skin. Gravity is a fact, and so is wear and tear. I don't think that the most beautiful 50 year old woman is necessarily the one who looks closest to 25, though that is admirable. There are ways to be beautiful when you are older that actually include the fact that you are … older. If you really do look half your age, that is wonderful for you and I'm a little envious. But if you don't look half your age, you can still be great looking. Just a little differently. It does take more work! 3
mario_C Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Fitchick, I didn't say anything about excuses and I didn't say going to a gym was the only way you can lose weight. I DID say that people in NYC walk a lot because they have to: a mile a day would freak out the average suburban Jane or Joe, but that's just normal activity there. My circle of friends in the city are mostly in their 40s and 50s and you'd never know, they all look great, the jerks. Oops, now someone's going to selectively quote-edit this post to say I'm trash talking my friends...
