Girlfriend moved from Canada to UK to be with me.

A year and a half later she's broke it off and gone back home.

We loved eachother but allot of problems arose becuase of the sacrifices and pressures of such a big commitment.

I tried my hardest to stop her and done all the usual desperate measures.

She's been back home for two weeks now and I'm absolutely heartbroken!

I ****ing love this girl so much! She's my everything!

Has anyone any experience with long distance second chances?

It's not like we've always been LDR. We lived together for a year and a half and our memories and experiences run really deep with eachother.

I haven't heard from her since she's been back.

I sent her an email asking how she is a few days ago but nothing back yet :(

I'm desperate here guys! I'm even contemplating flying there to win her back. I'm aware this is extreme but I see it as proof of my love for her.

Another option is to just go the friends route and see of we can build up something again over Skype, phone, email but I'm so scared she'll move on becuase we aren't together in the same country.

I have lots of family in Canada also so me moving there is a definite possibility.

It's just convincing her to give me a second chance but in her country.

It's horrible becuase it's not like we can go get a coffee and sort it out. Well we could but it would take 8 hours to get to the coffee shop :)

I'm sure everyone will be telling me to move on but I'm a romantic and I love her to bits and I don't want to let her go.

She said she still loves and cares for me but she isn't prepared to sacrifice everything for me anymore. Family, friends ect.

Any advice annoyed be greatly appretiated.

I can't stop thinking about her :(

Did you tell her that you would be willing to move there for her? Is there more details in your previous posts?

Not directly (I didn't know it was a realistic option for me until she left)

I have mentioned it to my cousin(who she is in touch with).

I spoke to my cousin on the phone and apparently they spoke on the phone and my ex was really short with her and said she didn't want to talk about it.

She's still pissed at me Im thinking.

The obvious course of action would be to give her space but is my situation kind of unique? Will it not require so heroics to save it?

Yes there's some other info in my other posts :)

Thankyou for trying to help me

people want what they can't have. its tough as hell but u need to give her space man...

what happened before she left i assume she would have said goodbye and not just shot off the airport. its odd, a year and a half then she changes her mind :S

how old are you/ is she?

seems like you need to play the waiting game, don't look needy don't be stupid. she clearly wants space, dw she won't move on, the longer you are with someone the more time you have to play with. however and this is what i have learnt in my experience, girls won't hesitate to use guys shortly after a break up to get over there ex to some degree.

I'm 28 and she's 21. Possible GIGS but she said a few times (this was also backed up by my cousin who is best friends with ex) that she won't be interested in men for a long time and just wants to be on her own for a while.

Basically, she didn't really like living hear and she missed home alot which I totally appretiate.

I'm completely willing to move to Canada though so she can everything she wants.

Yes, we said goodbye before she left.

We split up initially 6 weeks ago but then met up 3 times over the next few weeks.

She was hovering between crying, being cold and distant. Holding my hand, comforting me, nearly forgiving me and then eventually saying goodbye.

(apparently she collapsed in floods of tears when I left her at her friends front door) she said that she feels like I "died" .

Yeah man, a year and a half LDR with loads of holidays and then a year and a half living together. I'm confused aswell :s

Why did she break up with you? Was it only because of the distance?

We have one life and true love is hard to find...give her some time, suss out her true feelings...and then if you have an open or, I say go for the huge, romantic gesture. Life is too short to not try! Good luck!

Would you move to Canada even if there was no second chance? If you would, then I suggest that you consider doing that with no expectation that you'll get back together. Get yourself settled and when enough time has passed so that the negative emotions have cleared for both of you, perhaps reach out to reconnect.
