luvinthesun Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 My bf refuses to do certain things...like swim in my pool. Well here in tge south it is going to be in the hubdreds. Bf doesn't like swimming in other people skin remnants ... In his words ... My.pool.is clean and tested reguarly. Well my family is having sone friends over... To pool and tgeir gf/Bf. My child and I will have to be alone as Bf refuses. But Bf will swim in creek, lake , river and has told me about skinny dipping. But also says he won't swim because he hates his body. He works out and does construction and is built. So I know he also won't just .... Put his feet in tge pool. I do go to car shows and things for him I typically would not do. I don't know what do about his attitude ... Go by myself and tell him to do same???

I don't like swimming pools either because of other people's dirty habits, natural water is different partly because it's not usually as crowded and partly because its natural ability to process a lot of stuff that humans leave behind. Having said that, really crowded lake beaches are not that much fun. I think everyone is allowed to have their own little things they like or dislike. Though I'm surpised your boyfriend is squeemish considering how he sleeps with those dodgy/sick cats in his bed

This might stop...as they are bringing in ticks to indoor sick cat. He also let's them pee all over and eat off his plate. His living conditions are less than stellar. He also won't swim in my pool just with me... I know people have their quirks... But I figure he can come over and at least cookout with us. I spend tome with his family and at his place and his car shows and such. I am glad people can enjoy the pool with these temps. My meds to keep cancer back make me extremely hot so heat issurs are an issue for me. I get fevers, hives...etc...wheew.

So I wrote that I don't hate ... he writes - it is all about compromise. So that is awesome. I mean it is 100 degrees here. Poor thing works outside! I don't expect he will get in pool- but nice to know he will come and cook out... Thanks all.
