My boyfriend's birthday was today. We had already celebrated with dinner, cake and gifts over the weekend, but I wanted to do something for him today. So at work yesterday, I doodled several birthday notes/drawings on some post-its. Nothing major. Then last night while he was at the gym, I stopped by his house and hid them in different places (shower, iPad, underneath his xbox controller, sock drawer, beer fridge, etc.)

I figured he would just laugh and call me goofy and be done with it. Guys are stereotypically known for not being big on the cheesy/sappy stuff.

But he was absolutely thrilled and texted me each time he found a note, telling me how awesome it was for me to do that. When I got to his house tonight, he had them all stacked together, showed me his favorite ones, and said he was going to save them.

You guys, I almost teared up. The fact that something so simple and small meant that much to him was so touching! I was just very surprised. I've held back on that sort of thing before, thinking that because he was a guy, he wouldn't really be interested.

I just had to come here and share. How many of you guys here like the cheesy, cutesy stuff like that?

I've never been big on cards but I like the post it notes myself too, because it's a nice surprise. I also like letters and notes. But I probably wouldn't be a good gauge for what is typical for men to like, but post its sounds like a good thing to me...plus we like them because they're cool and they stick!
