Although I prefer being in a relationship, there are some clear advantages to single-ness:

 

- More $$$ in my wallet

- Easier to have friends who happen to be women

- Less obligations, work

- The ability to leave the toilet seat in its upright position :p

- Decreased pressure

- Can forget to check my phone for a few hours and have it not be a problem

My observation is that there genuinely ARE people who enjoy perpetual bachelor/bachelorette-hood. Sure, it isn't for everyone, but some people just want to sleep and flirt around with no commitments all the time. Who is to say that they are wrong? Way better that they stay out of Rs than try to force themselves into one and hurt their partner.
