b0red Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I like this girl, but she has a boyfriend.? Girl works at coffee shop next to my employeer. We talk a bit and I think she's super cute, and she is also extremely shy (which was quite obvious at first). About two months ago I asked her if she'd like to hangout, to which she replied "I have a boyfriend." No big deal, i shrugged it off and still continue to go in for my drinks. Here's where I'm slightly confused. Ever since that day, her and I have started having more / better conversations. Her shyness doesn't show threw when it's her and I talking now either, she's very open and has told me a lot about herself. Where shes from, all about her vacation in a few weeks, her school, classes, what university she wants to go to, she even told me that she has diabetes, which I would think is kind of personal, but I don't have diabetes so I don't know. Also, the other day she finished helping out one of her customers (who had just been my customer 5 min earlier, and when I started talking with said girl, said customer looked at her and said "now you smile that you're talking to him! (me)" Today I walked in while they were busy on my lunch, and she practically yelled as soon as I walked in "Hi Steve!!!" over the music, customers and other employees. That one hasn't happened before. I know she's still has a boyfriend because she told me about how he said "fu*k you" to her last week, and the other day he took her car while she was working and was late picking her up so she was all pissed then too. I like her a lot, but don't want to put myself out there again while she still has a boyfriend, and I'm not sure if the feelings are mutual. What should I do? Shes going on vacation for two weeks so I wont be able to see or talk to her until then, but she did tell me she has to work every day until her vacation starts next friday, so I have some time to chat more. We've never hung out or chatted for more then maybe 5 - 10 min since it's always at work, but I fee like her and I would get along amazing, and these convos happen a few times a week every week for the past few months since I first asked her to hang out.

Clearly your lack of experience with women shines through like a midnight star above. The reason why she's more open to you now is not because she's interested, but because she realizes that you've accepted that you and her isn't going to happen, and since you're still nice to her, you're now in the friendzone. That's why she's opening up to you like a girlfriend.
USMCHokie Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I like this girl, but she has a boyfriend.? I stopped reading here. She has a boyfriend. She talked to you. Great. ::clap clap clap:: Leave it at that and find a single friend to date. 2
mortensorchid Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Guy, she said she has a boyfriend, so there is no more pressure. She is opening up to you so much because she sees you as a friend and nothing else. As to the trouble mentioned with her bf, that's just another speed bump. If you want to keep this gal as your friend, that's fine, but don't expect that she's going to think of you as anything else but.

Girls that have boyfriends/husbands are extremely comfortable around me...I noticed this a lot on the cruise...girls that had guys back home had no issues hanging out with me one-on-one...and they were very open, fun, and playful... I'm harmless...
