Hey Loveshackers! I'm 4 months on from my BU and although I still love my ex I feel like I'd really love to start dating again because I'd love to just have fun with someone. The problem is I was with him for almost 3 years and I'm only 21 so I don't really have much experience dating. I was at the gym yesterday and these 2 guys kept looking at me and smiling everytime I looked over at them and when I left they kept waving and smiling at me. It definitely boosted my confidence but at the same time I felt kind of uncomfortable because I wasn't sure how to act in that situation. I just smiled and waved back. Is it okay for me to approach them next time I see them or should I wait for one of them to make the first move? Where are good places to meet some potential dates and how do I make myself seem approachable to guys? I've just never been very good at this stuff lol

Thanks!

If you are confident enough to go over and chat to them, then go for it!!!! Some men are scared to make the first move (because some girls are really nasty with rejections!!) so yeah, you've got nothing to lose!

I'm in Australia and its a bit different here ie very rarely does someone I know pick up in a gym or a supermarket, and definitely not while out clubbing!

Have you considered speed dating? Could be a good way to get comfortable with meeting new people and flirting :-)

Go to meetup dot com, enter SINGLES in the search box, and look through the results for singles groups that look interesting to you. Most of them are your typical bar/nightclub groups, but there are others that don't do the bar thing.

It won't work if you live in a small rural town though.
