Long story short-

My bf and I have a good relationship. His dog just died, and I found a card that his ex apparently gave him on fathers day...saying some stuff in the card, xoxo (her name). He obviously didnt tell me she gave him a card.

Im not sure if they still share a PO box together, or what..but idk what to think. everyone says shes moved on, and he said he has..

Am I completely overthinking this, and I need to get over it??

I don't understand. Did the ex say in the letter that the dog died, or was the dog living with your boyfriend?

I am very sorry the dog died. :( :( :(

Is your boyfriend a father?

Oh I get it now.

Ok, so they considered their dog as their child, yes? And the dog died.

Ok, no I personally don't think just this card is a huge deal. If he continues to spend time with her, that would be an issue.

Dogs are very precious to many people who have them as animal friends. There is a connection there between 2 people just because of a dog. For example, everytime I see a person walking his/her happy dog, I feel a connection with them because dogs are very important to me. I have a dog and I call her my "baby", even though I know she's not. I would feel so horrible if she died. :(

I wouldn't get upset over the card. Rather, I'd try to comfort him, since he lost a good animal friend.

The only time I've ever seen my Dad cry, by the way, is when his dog died.
