If a guy puts heaps of pressure on you to have sex and we aren't inexperienced teen virgins anymore and have needs. Why do guys then try and turn it around on us and backpeddle? Like the guy also did too, so isn't he a hypocrite really? And on the other hand years ago I went out with a coworker [first and last time]. Yet he actually dumped me for NOT sleeping with him on the first date. What gives?

It's a blessing that they are open enough to give the signs that you shouldn't be dating them anyways.

Who cares what he says? He's a butthole anyways and what they say is nothing but crap.

I think it's down to the individual and their relationship goals and needs as they apply to you. If they are only after sex with you, then it's highly likely they will end the relationship if you don't have sex with them because their needs aren't being met.

Some people use backpeddling to gaslight their partner (which may result in "blaming the victim") to make themselves seem less of a villian. This helps them to maintain their positive view of themselves and their part in the relationship. It's a self-preservation mechanism. If you're feeling gracious and it's a one-off, you could just let it go. However, the frequent lack of accountability may begin to take it's toll in an LTR.

If your goals and his goals don't match and neither of you are willing to compromise, it's probably for the best that you go your separate ways. Usually, there's nothing inherently good or bad in having individual goals, it's just that sometimes they're not compatible or conducive to a long-term relationship.

Thats why you cant generalize men. Some guys want an easy lay, some want virgins. Either way if you are getting worked up about it, its time to adjust your man picker.
