I had a casual conversation with one of my friends, and have been waiting to ask her out. It is the second to last day of school today, we are both juniors. We began talking about how I said that I would treat her to lunch one day, and I said, "How about tomorrow?", and she gazed at me, and replied with joy a simple yes. She asked me to meet her in front of her last period class at the end of the day.

That day is today. I went, and she wasn't there. I walked around for about ten minutes, and I found her. She was dressed up, more than usual, talking to friends. I asked where she had gone, and she replied, "Looking for you!". So, her friends said, "Have a good time," which I thought was slightly odd, considering she is shy, and probably wouldn't want to tell people we were going somewhere.

We didn't leave immediately, because she said she had some things to take care of. She signed some yearbooks and whatnot, but wanted to go see graduation practice. I thought I should distance myself, so I said, "Okay, I'll catch up with you in a bit then," and I gave her my number to call me when she was finished.

She never called me, I came back a half hour later, and she was back signing yearbooks and talking with friends. I asked her when we were going to go, because I had to get home before 4, and she said she was waiting for one of her friends. When I asked why, she only replied, "because".

I saw her walk away with a couple people, and she didn't come back for an our and a half. I went to 7/11 and got something to drink, so I wouldn't look like an idiot sitting around waiting for her when she got back. It was 3:15, and I was getting ready to leave when she came walking up. I asked her why she had left, and she said she went to get something to eat.

I had no idea what to say. I said, "I thought we were supposed to go, you know, just you and me". She told me I could've come with her, but, she left unexpectedly without telling me. She was getting ready to change out of her nice clothes, she said, because she had to go home. I asked her if she wanted me to wait for her, and she told me no in defiance. As I was leaving, her friends told me that she really liked me. And some of her friends who didn't go eat with her, had said that they knew I asked her out, even though I never told anyone.

I don't know what to do, or what I should've done. She has my number, and that's it. I will only see her tomorrow, it's our last day of school.

Didn't finish.

Everything until the last little part hinted she isn't interested. I'd ask her out on a real date, not a lunch thing if you get a chance to talk with just you and her. If you don't get any separation, call her, you have her number right?

No, I do not have her number, she has mine though. Yeah, also, she had told one of my best friends about a week ago that she has liked me for a long time. And, he recently told me this, which got me interested in her more than I was before.
