Emissary Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 So I work in my town's mall as a cashier at Tim Hortons. there's this one girl I've always been sort of interested in, she always gets her coffee from me, as a result we've been acquainted for a couple years now, getting to know each other a little better every now and then with out little chats. One thing I know about her is that she's the manager in charge of the clothing store she works at. I'm sort of in the mood and I would fancy taking an actual shot at her. I tried to find her Facebook profile to get an idea if she's seeing somebody already, no luck there, but I did find her store's website saying they're hiring. I immediately came up with a little fantasy of applying just so I could get her on her own for a few minutes in an interview. This fantasy sparked an actual absurd thought that might just be so crazy it could work. What if I wrote up a spiffy looking resume, application and cover letter aimed not at getting a job at her store, but to get her to go out with me. Applying to be her boyfriend. Could write that up, hand it to one of the girls at her store, she will see it later in the day, and then who knows. Chances are I would never do this, but it sounds pretty awesome.

You been watching way too many movies and/or reading romance novels lately. This would make a female say "Oh, he's a weirdo/psycho/desperate/clinger/creeper/goon/screwball/idiot/etc." Just ask her out straight up one of the times she gets her coffee or drink. Just be laid back, cool, calm and collected about it. Speak clearly and don't rush your words. It ain't not thang but a chicken wang either way...worse she can do is say "no." 1

I'm constantly handing her burning liquids, I think the worst she can do is attempt to repel me by splashing my face with hot coffee, thus hideously scarring my beautiful face.
Sid6.7 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Yeah, not the best idea. Funny maybe, but not in your situation. A resume isn't going to help you get the job after two years. Two years, is that right? Huh, you should have spent less than two minutes.

If some guy did that to me, I'd think it was so fun, and funny...but then put him square in that proverbial 'friend zone.' I can't even explain why...something to do with it being a good laugh and making me like you but at the same time kinda losing a bit of respect (cuz it seems pretty desperate) and never being able to consider you as a potential mate. Friend, yes. Partner, no.

Again, you've been watching way too many movies. You're not gonna be ridiculed, have coffee thrown in your face, be beat up by her 2 goons waiting around the corner, or a jealous (potential) boyfriend of hers. You'll flatter her (if she's a real woman, not a stuck up bitch), and probably make her day either way you roll the dice. Go for it like a man, but like Art has stated, a date...NOT as a "boyfriend." For fun, write out some drafts and never send them, keep them for your journals or something. If you want to be with this woman romantically, you are best with direct methods.
