Cathster Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 My boyfriend left 11 days ago to work a summer abroad, something he'd signed up to before we got together. I am so grateful that it is just the summer but at the moment September seems an awfully long way away. I'm struggling with the lack of contact I have had with him. The place my boyfriend is working at does not have an Internet connection so he is relying on an Internet cafe - but he is pretty much on shift 24/7 so I have no idea when he is able to get time to go to the cafe, at the moment it seems to be every couple days. He said he would call but hasn't yet. I just hate not knowing when I am going to hear from him, and it's only been 11 days - I've got another 3 months of this! He did warn me before he left that due to his work he wasn't sure when he'd be able to contact me, but I didn't really take it too seriously. I've done an LDR before and we could at least text/call each other daily because of What'sapp and Skype - but that we don't even have that luxury here. I don't even think there is anything that can be done about this, I'm just ranting.
mafalda Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Hi, being in a long distance relationship for three months will make your relationship stronger. at the end of that experience you'll be able to know how committed you both are to the relationship. My best advice, since you don't really know when he would be able to connect, email him tell him everything that happened during the day and the way you feel. That way, he will be able to see it and reply! I know it's hard, but it will be worth it!
