no_clue Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Ive been messaging this woman on a social networking site for a little while she is 25 and im 19 ive already been with a couple women this age. She seems mature and well put together has alot of hobbies. I dont know where its goin or what i should say next cause weve been messaging for awhile about this n that but she didnt give me her number earlier when i asked, she said she didnt give it out that easy. Im looking for a girlfriend and she lives in the same small town i do, and i dont have many oppurtunities to meet girls so i go online. I am not looking for sex I already have someone i can do that with that im starting to get tired of. So i was wondering should i ask her to a movie or dinner or what, also ive never been on a date so idk how to act.
Philosoraptor Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 If you're interested then go for it. Worst she can do is say no. If she agrees that's great, if not you move on. But if you're interested at least give it a try.
Author no_clue Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 Ok so I asked why she didnt have a boyfriend and she said cause when she meets a guy they seem alright then end up being a douche. I said I wasnt like that and asked if she would date someone my age and she said yeah age is just a number. Idk what to say now should I ask for her number again or keep talking, do you think shes interested since weve been writing for awhile now
Philosoraptor Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 No one can know how she'd respond... but if you want something you need to be willing to take that risk and put yourself out there.
Ninjainpajamas Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 She's clearly testing you, you've got to display some maturity, confidence and genuine intentions here...she's already told you she has a wall up towards you and other guys, she's essentially giving away clues to you. She's older than you, and she thinks age is just a number so she's a bit of a fool and it's definitely something you can exploit, since although you're looking for a relationship you're a 19 year old, the concept is foreign to what that really means at your age but you're on the right track to learning. If you've been talking a while then tell her since she wouldn't give you her number how about meeting up for a date so she can see for herself whether you are a douche or not...tell her you're interested in a relationship not games, so It's up to her to decide whether she's willing to give you a chance or not, and that's all you're asking for...a chance. Meet her at a restaurant, treat her with respect, be yourself, be genuine...If you're not a douche you've got nothing to worry about. Relax, help her feel relaxed and be confident in yourself, do your thing, dont overthink it...she doesn't expect you to be perfect and you shouldn't feel she has to be, If you've got game though...now would be a good time to use it.

Yes, if you've been communicating for awhile and she has refused to give you her number, then it's time to fish or cut bait as the saying goes. Extended messaging when you're interested in a relationship, and she even lives in the same town, is a waste of your precious time and emotional energies. You didn't say how long this has been ongoing, but if she's not ready to meet, chances are she never will be. It could be that she's slow to warm up but more likely that she's just getting what she needs by keeping you (and perhaps a few others) on the string.
