PuzzleSolver1234 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 So here's the thing: I met this girl on the street, we didn't have much time to talk but I asked her if she wants to go out (on the same day), she said "I don't promise" but asked for my number nonetheless. On another day she called me, asked how I'm doing etc and before we finished the conversation I asked her out once again, I could hear her smiling and she said "maybe". AFAIK "maybe" usually means "no", so I'm not being naive here or anything of that sort. What I don't understand is, why did she call me if that is the case? I'm quite of a logical thinker, and everything seems to be logical in this world except of the women...
crazylove Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 If she called you, she's interested!! ...and maybe usually means yes!! LOL:laugh:
Author PuzzleSolver1234 Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Why didn't she just say "yes" then? After all she called me? And if she had a problem with the time, she could at least say "sure, but maybe on another day?" or anything like that... Doesn't make sense to me.

She was being coy/playful, and most likely expecting you to flirt with her and continue to pursue. Honestly... if a girl you barely met takes your number and then makes the effort to call you a few days later, you don't her to say 'yes' to know she's interested. Say something like "I'm free wednesday or friday, let me know which of those suits you best" and take it from there. A choice of two dates is better then one in case she genuinely is busy, and anyone turning down both who is into you will feel like they need to offer an alternative time, in order to convey they do want to see you and aren't fobbing you off.
