Nohbody Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I've decided to get back to weekly counselling on top of seeing the psychiatrist and social worker. My mental health has taken a pretty severe plummet in the last month or so, and even basic personal maintenance is becoming extremely difficult. This is really unsettling. I thought I was doing better, and now I feel like I'm being sucked back down again.
ToyWithMe812 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 And what was the trigger of this recent malaise?
Author Nohbody Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 I live with mental illness after being deployed to Iraq three times. And some other things I opt not to talk about here right now.
ToyWithMe812 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I feel for you my friend, I was there myself. Listen, you are still here. I know guys who have been through incomprehensible s**t and have come out fine, and others who have been through not nearly as hard a time and they have lost it. Dude, you are still here. Take these demons down and the best of luck in healing brother.

Thank you for your service to America! I'm sorry you have suffered as a consequence. On this Memorial Day weekend I am glad to thank you personally. Surely you lost comrades as we all remember those who died. Again~thank you soldier.

I can read that you too have suffered and struggled as a consequence of war. Again, thank you and please know that many Americans care about your struggle to heal. We all remember and memorialize fallen comrades this day. Edited May 28, 2012 by Balzac Typo
Author Nohbody Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 That's right. It's almost memorial day. Oh boy.
CopingGal Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I'm so sorry that you have been through so much. On Oprah they had a guy who was traumatized from the war, plus he had a brain injury. He had a dog to help him. The dog puts a barrier between him and other people so that he doesn't feel people are sneaking up on him. Also, he feels comforted by the dog and can now leave the house on his own. I also know someone who told me he was "blown up" a few times. I really feel for people who have been through so much. I don't know what your problems are, but I'm glad you are getting help for them. Thank you for your service.
