So my boyfriend of three years breaks up with me. I thought I deserved more information/closure so I went back to him with questions. He basically responded saying after three years, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to marry me so he felt like he had to end the relationship. He doesn’t know why he wasn’t ready to marry me but maybe cause he sees what its like for the married people who he works with, i.e. they never see their wife and kids and that’s not fair. So basically, he said he thought it would only be fair if he had time/space to figure out what he wants in his life. And, he added it wouldn’t be fair for me to wait around for him. So now, what do I do? Do I let go? How does one just forget about 3 years of great times? And how has he not missed me enough to call me? It’s been a week since I’ve heard from him, the coward. Could it be that he is happier without me? Need advice from men cause I don’t get this man at all!

The guy seems to need space.

He probably won't call you. When I need space from a girl, I don't call her at all. I need like a week or two or sometimes even 3 weeks of space.

He needs to figure things out on his own.

Even though he doesn't call you, or you guys might forever break up, it still doesn't mean that he doesn't care about you. I'm sure whatever happens, you guys will still care for each other.

I suggest you have fun. Go call your girlfriends.

Hang out with them. Go watch a movie with them.

Just keep busy or something.

Ugh. I hate when people decide for me what I will and will not do. However, this could just be an excuse. I agree with the others. Let him sort himself out. Could be he realizes he's being a twit. Or he could be trying to edge out of a relationship by rationalizing it this way :(

First of all you have to make him understand you're taking him seriously. PAck all the things he had at your place and send them to him with a note asking him to do the same.

Cut all ties. Make him feel what's it like all there alone, with no one to care for him.

Than think think think. If he doesn't see himself married, than even if he loves you he did the right thing. I believe that marriage is important to you right?

Take the time to put some order into your thoughts and see what you need to know. Which question to ask him so that at least you get a closure! Then demand him to talk to you! You have the right to ask!

What happened? How come this happened? What triggered it? And most importantly, what do you want?

It could also be the case that he just wasn't happy anymore. How was your relationship before the breakup?
