mortensorchid Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Tonight (or last night as it's now nearly 5 am and I can't sleep) something happened. I invited two friends over for a dinner party, it was my one friend's birthday the other week and I said I was cooking tonight and it would be his birthday dinner. We ate, watched a movie and then they went home. Later while on Facebook, I got an IM from him saying thank you for the dinner. I said he was welcome. Here's the thing, he said that during the evening he wanted to jump my bones. I was shocked. Know why? Because he's 60 years old. You did not read that incorrectly. He and I had been friends for a while, we started having late night chats on Facebook because he is up all night with his health problems and can't sleep at night because of it. Being a night owl, I too was up and we would have chats. I said I was not interested in him that way. Way back when when we started having our chats and things he said "You're too young for me". I don't know what to do about this! I am wanting Mr. Right to come along, but I was hoping he would be closer to my age and not a 60 year old man.
johan Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 The term "friend" is loosely applied between men and women. It's often a facade for something else altogether. It's good to know the guy still is feeling the spark. Maybe you just bring that out in guys who otherwise wouldn't.
darkmoon Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) young ppl who are aghast at mature sex might feel happy that sex still goes on once they too are deemed too old like me, and like other fossils too, yes some of my oldie male friends pounce on me too Edited May 24, 2012 by darkmoon
gaius Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Seems like you're not turned off by the idea? Gaps that big have worked for other women. The 30 something redhead on Desperate Housewives was with a 60 something guy for a long time. 1
FitChick Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Just keep telling him that while you like him as a friend, he is not your type. Tell him to try internet dating.
oaks Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Good on him for being honest enough to tell you. Just be honest right back and tell him you don't feel the same way.
Author mortensorchid Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 I will have to tell him no. I am 37 he is 60. Maybe he was drunk or something. But I will have to tell him this.
