frenchgirl Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I met this guy on a dating site and we hit if off right from the start. We IM'ed for a couple of weeks before deciding to meet up. Things actually went well and I had a great time. A few days later, he asked me out again. Things went well but I was on the fence about seeing him again so I told him I'd let him know when I'm free. He responded that he had a great time and was looking forward to seeing me again. Not knowing what to say, I decided not to respond. Well, today I found out he took me off his contacts! Was I that rude to him? Or is he over reacting?
dasein Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Rude? no, eh maybe a wee bit. He made a judgment call that your weren't interested based on your ignoring him and moved on. Men have gotten used to the standard flake/ignore female rejection tactic as opposed to being straightforward, so it's no wonder he came to the conclusion he did. If you are interested in seeing him, -call him- NOT aim, text, etc., apologize for ignoring his last message, and ask him out. Good luck.
SJC2008 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Hit it off right from the start+things went well = On the fence??? He was not over reacting, you ignored him. When meeting someone new you have to be clear in showing your interest because people have different communication styles so if you come off the least bit not interested, most men will "take a hint" What were you on the fence about?

Well I feel like if I go out again with him he'll want to become physical. I wouldn't want to lead him on so that's why I'm not so sure about it. I gather my reaction wasn't the most enthusiastic but did he really have to dump me off his contacts? Isn't that too strong of a reaction?

Yall met on a dating site so does it say if he's looking for kids or anything to see if he want's something long term. Did he kiss you on the first date? When you told him you'll let him know how EXACTLY did you word it? I'll tell you how I would of taken it.
threebyfate Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Logic dictates that if you display signs of disinterest through non-response, he's going to move on. EOM.
