HallowedBeThyName Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Approximately what percent of girls around the ages of 18 - 25 would you say are single? Reason I ask this is because I'm gonna try to take some steps to at least get some numbers and maybe even dates. I'm just trying to figure out what percentage of the girls I encounter will tell me they have a boyfriend so I can mentally prepare myself
LittlePrince Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 5-10% are single but that can go up well over 60 or 70 if you are the cat's meow.
Author HallowedBeThyName Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 5-10% are single but that can go up well over 60 or 70 if you are the cat's meow. that doesn't make much sense
Vintage79 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 It's way bigger than 5-10%...especially if you're at the night clubs. I'd guess in general that about a third are truly single, about a third are married, and a third are in actual relationships. At hipster night clubs - expect about 2/3s+ to be single...
LittlePrince Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 that doesn't make much sense You will find women will magically become more available the more desirable the man is. 1

LittlePrince Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 third of women between the ages of 18-25 are married? Lol wut? Depends where you are. It can be higher.
Author HallowedBeThyName Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Depends where you are. It can be higher. Percentage of women who are married around the ages of 18-25 is like 5-10%. What planet do you guys live on? Also this thread is about girls who are NOT married. I wanted to know the percentage of nonmarried girls who are single. The ones who are married are irrelevant because I can just see the wedding ring and not approach them. I want to know what percentage of nonmarried girls I approach will be single

With a little bit of hunting around online, you quickly find that the likelihood of a 25 year old female being married is 50%. True - that doesn't correlate with a 33% marriage rate in the 18-25 group, but it's way higher than 5-10% Also this thread is about girls who are NOT married. I wanted to know the percentage of nonmarried girls who are single. The ones who are married are irrelevant because I can just see the wedding ring and not approach them. Author HallowedBeThyName Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 By definition, NON-MARRIED means SINGLE. You want to know how many single women are AVAILABLE to date you. that is correct
dasein Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Approximately what percent of girls around the ages of 18 - 25 would you say are single? This is a function of your dating pool, and not a general number that applies across the country, so unless someone in the thread is in your exact dating pool also, you are unlikely to get an accurate answer.

dasein Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Well here's the problem. In rural areas I've lived in, the "single female" rate is much much lower than in urban areas, suburbs usually more like rural with some exceptions. So where are you? and what do you see with your own eyes in your social group and out? Those estimates will help you get the information you seek more than us pulling numbers out our ass, not that many of us don't enjoy pulling stuff out of our ass here from time to time, but even we of LS have limits.

I live in a very nice suburban city that's like a small version of chicago
dasein Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 OK, are most of the suburbs family oriented? or lots of apartment complexes and condos where singles tend to live? When you go out in your area, how is the ratio of F/M in bars? Are there lots of colleges nearby? Those tend to attract more of a single friendly environment post grad. What does the business base look like? Lots of businesses that cater more to families? or singles? How many bars and night clubs? How many churches? Not sure how knowing an estimate is going to help you dating unless you are considering moving away if it's low enough, maybe better to spend the time out actually meeting folks, but those are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself in getting a relatively accurate estimate. Good luck.
