episkopos Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 To the religious, there is a verse in the Bible that says "...beauty is vain." Proverbs 31:30 This verse explains why beauty fades with time. Does that mean that you should not look at how beautiful and attractive a lady is before you marry her? After all it will all fade away after a few years.
january2011 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 It depends on how religious you are and if the bible is your reference source for making decisions about your love life. Even as a general principle, while beauty may not be a requirement for some, I suspect that in societies where men and women are free to choose their spouse, a certain degree of attraction is required (and most likely other factors) before a marriage is on the cards.
