Ms_Maven Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Hi Everyone, I finally decided to join this site to see if I can get some help and support. My ex and I have filed for divorce. He was an alcoholic. We ended our relationship a few months ago and have been living in separate states. I've been trying to rebuild my life and had to start from scratch... new place, new job... it's been an experience full of up and downs and overwhelming moments. I decided to give dating a try recently and it's not quite what I expected because I'm a different person now than before. I guess I'm just looking to talk to and maybe meet other folks who have been through this. I know things could be much worse, but I just need some extra encouragement here and there. Thanks. M.
january2011 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 My ex and I have filed for divorce Since you're not divorced yet. I'd advise holding off on the dating for now. It's setting up a potentially messy and complicated situation if you bring another person into your life when you're not yet done moving on from the previous person.
