If it does, accept the failure and move to the next step. If the failure is combined with a desire to separate by the partner who lacked synergy in the work, I'd just file and suggest mediation. Move forward. This is exactly what happened with my mom and dad. He said he was going to counseling to "cure her problem". Needless to say, divorce was next.
