chauffeur Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I was in a pub recently of a sat Night (Dublin) when an ex girlfriend came in with i assume her boyfriend I have not seen her in about 10 years, we broke up around 20 years ago. But when i seen her she did not make eye contact with me, even do she knew i was standing near her? She sat down very near were i was she looked a bit embarrassed , i went to the toilet when i came back she had moved to the other side of the pub? I went to the toilet on a couple of occasions (trying to make eye contact but she would not make eye contact, but when i walked by her i could see her looking after me (BIG MIRROR) no disrespect to the guy she was with but he is not the type of guy she usually goes with. i was a bit taken back why after so long apart she would behave like this.? I would appreciate other peoples views on this .
jennisfora Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 i think for some reason, she wanted to avoid an awkward situation, that whole, oh hi, how are you? how has life been treating you? oh btw, date, this is my ex bf from 20 years ago...yeah. how about those mariners (or insert local sports team here) just my guess.

I don't why you played the try to catch her eye game... even if you didn't stop for a chat, I would of just waved till she acknowledged me or sent a couple of drinks to their table. People averting their eyes is weird, and just make things more awkward IMO.
