A month ago, I started talking to this girl in my class because of a group project we had to do. At first, our convos mainly consisted of class topics like when were assignments due etc., but 2 weeks after getting her number we started flirting through text. When I first met her, she never started the convos on the text (it was always me who started it), but this week she texted me first on three different days with random info like "on my way to class" or "did you finish your essay for another class" blah blah blah (FYI: She did ifnore my text two days ago when I asked her if she still felt sick). Yesterday after class, we went our separate ways and continued to text each other, and at that point I asked her to go get food with me after our final in 1 and a half weeks (I found out much later on that our final ends at 12). She replied right away and said sure! and also asked me to go clubbing with her during the summer. What I'm wondering is does she consider getting lunch or dinner as a date? Would she not consider it a date because I did not ask her in person? Also, the next time I'll see her is in one and a half weeks during the final, should I find a way to go meet up with her between now and then?

Really new to the dating scene and would appreciate your opinions:o, Thx!

Keep talking to her and see where the lunch goes. Don't jump the gun, but I think she might be interested in you. Dates don't have to be set up in-person (many times first dates are via text/call) but consider what your goal is. If your goal is to see if she's truly interested, then it's a date. If you're just randomly asking to go to lunch without a second thought, then it's more a friends thing.

Good luck!

this is a hot overthought mess. just go with the flow and stop analysing!! she likes you, you like her. have lunch. see how it goes. surely giving it the title of a 'date' isnt going to make a difference. just go enjoy yourself.
