Author Woggle Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 There is no feminism in affairs unless feminism suddenly means that women should be as bad as men in the cheating statistics. So you support women cheating on men but not sleeping with MM? Correct me if I read this wrong.
SomedayDig Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 A good point BW. Hence...I'm a guy! LOL I guess when I read the article this morning, the only thing I saw was (in my words) "Hey ladies, if you feel stuck in your marriage and have an affair to work things out then you're actually helping your marriage". Maybe I'll go re-read the article.
Author Woggle Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 I think men get unfairly stereotyped on this issue. We really do when both genders are guilty.
MediumRare Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 The more I think about this article, the more funny it becomes... I can just see getting oral from some strange chic in our house, and when my wife walks in, say "Hold on honey, it's not what it looks like. I'M SAVING OUR MARRIAGE!" 1

"But I'm doing it for Yoooouuuuuuu!!"
threebyfate Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Stuff like this is the reason people don't like feminists. Blogger: The sun's going supernova in the next year. Wogger: It's because of feminists!
Author Woggle Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Blogger: The sun's going supernova in the next year. Wogger: It's because of feminists! The mentality expressed in this article is very much a feminist kind of view. It's certainly not anti-feminist.
threebyfate Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 The mentality expressed in this article is very much a feminist kind of view. It's certainly not anti-feminist.Only if you twist your perception of everything. Using your logic, the following would be true: A woman states she enjoys driving. Woggle's perspective is that since she hasn't stated anything anti-feminist, she's a feminist because the freedom inherent in knowing how to drive is one feminism encourages.

This is a dumb article that the author is cloaking in some twisted version of female empowerment. It has nothing to do with actual feminism but many people will get the two mixed up.

If you notice, there was no reference to Feminism within the article. What's blatant is that selfish people will be selfish and cake eaters will find excuses and ways to cake eat, whether it's been rationalized or not. Had these women been real Feminists, they would have empowered themselves to leave unhappy marriages instead of cheating.

I can just see getting oral from some strange chic in our house, and when my wife walks in, say "Hold on honey, it's not what it looks like. Ninja'sHusband Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 btw, I'm pretty sensitive about this stereo type that men cheat a lot more. I think now-a-days it's just not true. I can't believe how many cases I've heard about where women cheat: here, in books, in real life, etc.
Bellechica Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I agree with NH. I just think women admit to cheating less than men. I think cheating can save a marriage if a woman is remorseful and realizes the grass isn't always greener and she chooses to fix herself and not repeat stupid choices.
anne1707 Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) I agree with NH. I just think women admit to cheating less than men. I think cheating can save a marriage if a woman is remorseful and realizes the grass isn't always greener and she chooses to fix herself and not repeat stupid choices. It may save a marriage if the WS is so weak and pathetic not to to be proactive (and therefore have an affair rather than tackle the problems) and the BS can then find it in them to try again. The stronger approach is to deal with problems in the marriage before an affair starts. Thankfully some of us get a second chance. Edited May 11, 2012 by anne1707
