PoppyLove89 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 So I recently posted a thread because I'd been texting this guy I met until he disappeared for no reason for almost a week....well, I was just dozing off to sleep last night when my phone vibed at around 11.30pm. It was him! Want to know what he said? "Hey you Sorry I disappeared...guess who lost his phone xxx" - Okay, so he's managed to let his battery die twice since we've been speaking and then proceeded to lose his phone altogether?! Yet oddly, my whats'app message to him was still delivered. Either I'm just extremely cynical or something odd is going on here. I haven't replied to him but he's messaged me twice more since then today...once this morning and then again at noon. I should keep ignoring him right? What would you guys do??? He seems like a player now.
shayla Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 In my experience, people who do this are trying to manage you with the push pull method of control. This may not be the case, but in my experience, this looks like that to me, so from that perspective this is what I would do. I would reply to him, thanking him for his text, and letting him know that while it is nice that he "found his phone" that it would be best that he lose your number. Goodbye, and have a nice life! *hugs* But that's just me...LOL
Emilia Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 A week is a long time to replace a mobile phone in this day and age
Author PoppyLove89 Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Well this is my thinking exactly! Okay, so it wasn't an entire week, but still it's an awfully long time PLUS if he did lose it, surely his battery would have died at some point? It just doesn't add up. He clearly thinks I'm dumb as hell. I think I'm going to cut this one off completely. I know it's hypocritical given the fact that I was only recently complaining about him falling off the radar without explanation and about how rude it is of people who do this but I wasn't the one playing games. I started this whole thing off with an innocent and honest approach...but if this is the way he wants it; let's go! To quote Carrie Bradshaw: "Forget you know my number. In fact, forget you know my name!"
blindesided Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Ignore him for as few days - then text him back and say your cat ate your phone - sorry - lol - Yes I think he is playing games - who knows why some people feel the need to do that - ugh - I am getting more cynical by the minute
Author PoppyLove89 Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Haha yeah, "sorry I 'lost' my phone...you know how it is!"
