SJC2008 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Is holding hands with someone you are dating and putting your arm around them to posessive or acting boyfirendy to early on? Let's say 4 dates or less. I did this with the last girl I dated on our second and 3rd date. I put my arm around her for a little bit on a train ride we went on and held her hand when walking down the street. I don't know if I'm overthinking but I'm curious.
dasein Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I usually don't put arm around or hold hands until we are having sex regularly. That's just me though.
Leigh 87 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I like a guy to hold my hand and touch me on the second date.... You know the first date is to establish if we want to go further, anything else should approach the touchy feeling stage, for me personally. My boyfriend put his hand on my leg within the first or second time together, that we had ever met. I like it a lot. It was touching, but not overly touchy. You know, each girl is different.
FrustratedStandards Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I don't like PDA. A peck on the lips and holding hands is as far as i'll accept, but personally I don't even like holding hands in public. The most I will do it hold his arm It's such a gentleman thing to do and I absolutely love it when they fold their arm so they can guide you makes me blush

shayla Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Public Display of Affection We hold hands at times and I'll hold his arm here and there. We hug and peck smooch on seeing one another and when we part company. That's just enough for me.
DuchessKaye Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 What's a PDA ? I think it's, Public Display of Affection... I love PDA... I love PDA... All the guys I've been with were very affectionate even in public on early dates and I loved it. Holding hands and arms around my waist make me blush too, makes me feel being taken care of. But touching legs, back and more of that, please not in public, just inside the car or some crazy places like the elevator or a hallway with cameras but with no people. Haha!
missyme04 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Hmmmm. For me, just take it slow. I think it's toooooo early for that. but that's for me though. 2nd and 3rd date is too early for holding hands, etc.
Author SJC2008 Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Well I held her hand a little and put my arm around her a little on our 2nd date and got a 3rd. On our 3rd date I'm thinking I overdid it. I wasn't all over her but I put my arm around her a couple of times and held her hand for a bit. Also we were thrown into an awkward position too. We were at an aquarium and they had some weird cat like a hybrid cheetah or something and I was gonna take a pic of her with her phone then a worker said she'll shoot us together lol. It was one of those things where u can buy the pic (I didn't). Anyway, I was wondering if I overdid it. We still talked after the 3rd date but things fell apart for reasons previously posted about here.

If she is receptive then she is the girl for you otherwise she's not and move on.
g450 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Everyone is different. XW hated PDA. Current Fiancee loves it. To each his or her own. For XWs part I think it was mainly that she was ashamed of me. She wanted an Officer and a Gentleman but wound up with a Sailor with a Sixpack. Oh well. She is the one that settled but I am the one that took the hit for it in later years. Good thing is that now Im getting all the lovin from my current girl that I didnt get from the X. We are both playing catch up.:bunny:
