Hello there,

I was hoping I could maybe get some feedback?

My ex-girlfriend and I broke up seven weeks ago after a one year long-distance relationship. We would see each other normally every second weekend throughout the year. In that year we had a number of holidays together so did spend a lot of time together at spells. This had been going well, until the start of the year when distance became a bit of an issue (I am about to move to her city in the coming months though).

Anyway, as I say we broke up seven weeks ago, (over the phone), and since then there has been a text or phone call maybe once a fortnight since. I concede it has mostly been me instigating it.

I got a text from her last week saying her and a friend would be visiting my city next weekend to see a mutual friend. She said she would love to see me for a drink or dinner.

Just wondered what you guys thought? Should I completely move on and accept it's over? When things were good between us they were great. When things weren't so good it didn't feel the best, to be honest.

I would appreciate some honest and constructive criticism if you have any.

Many thanks in advance.

Was she the one who initiated the breakup?

Neither of us planned to break up on the phone, it just happened. We talked and then both raised some doubts, I think we just got a bit carried away because of the distance things. It was probably 60/40 her decision.

It sounds to me like you guys should sit down and talk about it. Just be open and honest. If you want her back tell her. If she says no the do proper nc to heal yourself and move on.

Thanks. We can hopefully do that at the weekend. Seven weeks seems like a long time, for all I know she could have met someone in that time. That is probably the thing I'm most worried about ...

My ex hasn't contacted me in 2 months now. That's long! Honestly he doesn't even deserve a reply if he does call its been so long lol
