No, most of my male friends make critical remarks about women here and there where most often, they're kidding around. As long as it's not a consistent pattern of serious criticism against women or their wives, I shrug it off.

My parents are always zinging and teasing each other but their love is palpable. If it weren't a gross thought, their teasing sometimes gets to the level of near foreplay.

I can tell the difference between joking around and genuine misandrist hatred.

If so, then why would you believe that someone else's wife, after one critical comment about men or their husband, would be considered a misandrist? What about all those times where strange women you've encountered at stores made critical remarks and you dubbed them misandrists?

Come on Woggle, you know better than this. You really do.

Because I can sense it. After growing up with it I can sense genuine misandry. When I hear a woman laughing about violence against men what else am I supposed to call it? I never laugh when a woman is beaten but anytime a woman does something horrible to a man especially if it is his male parts they think it is funny.

Also on this board the lack of empathy from some women towards any male having a rough time in his love life speaks volumes. I am not saying it is all women on here but some just refuse to to even try and see where these guys are coming from.

I don't get mad about a joke from a woman who obviously is not a man hater but the kind of stuff I mentioned really gets to me.

Yup, backsliding again. No surprise but disappointing as usual.

If women don't pander to men like babies, they're misandrists.

Personal experience is relevant, but let's keep it focused on the topic rather than analyzing specific members or the site community in general. Thanks.

Woggle - I would say you are someone with your boundaries up and you probably always will be.

But the question is, how would you advise people with these boundaries to bring them down?

It's not pandering. If I were laughing about female genital mutilation would you find that funny?
