Kat Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 I finally did it!!!! I got a Brazilian 'Bikini' wax yesterday (just front, no rear). I usually wax the bikini line anyway, so when she did those bits, it was a breeze. Then she hit untouched territory. I had shaved, sure,.... but it had never EVER been waxed before.. and OMG THE PAIN! But all up it took 15mins and by the time I had my pants on again, I didn't feel a thing I have yet ti share it, so I don't know how 'well' it will be received, but I definately plan on making it a long term thing. Anyone else have one?

I have a question for you though, do you have to take your underwear off? Because I've gotten a waxing before but just the bikini line, and I kept my underwear on. I wouldn't mind getting a brazillian, but I think I would feel too shy and embarrassed.
CurlyIam Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 For the first time in my life I've tried waxing alone. I wanted to do the bikiny line, but what do you know, I ended up with a Brazilian one . As sadistic as it may seem, I fond that it hurt less when doing it myself. It took only... 5 hours and wax in all the house. At least now all the floors are shining (I spent 2 extra hours cleaning!!!!). But I am happy and proud for having achieved this!

Some of it worked, but the rest would not rip off, but rather slowly peel off like peeling off honey and wouldn't take the hair out. It was painful when that happened. I'm thinking I must have been doing something wrong. $30 for nads, I'd rather pay $15 to get it done by a proffesional in 10 minutes with no mess.

Fayebelle Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 My new thing is Sally Hansons Spa dipilitory creams. You can't get the inner areas like wax can but no pain and still Super smooth and tidy. Takes about 1hr but I only have to use it once a wk now b/c your hair comes back thinner and slower every time. Major plus- $5 for a bottle that does legs, bikini , and underarms twice! And it doesn't smell like those other funky dip creams.

If you are embrassed, or a little prude, then it is not for you.

I'd be terribly embarassed...well, I'd probably run away It is about three years I remove all the hair down there (except the strip on the top) by plucking out single hairs. It takes a lot of time so I was seriously considering trying to get a brazilian wax.... but now I changed my mind This information was very useful to me, it is going to save me from a very embarassing situation

If you want to get a wax, brazilian or not, I think you should overcome your shyness. IT's not that big a deal, it'll be only you and her! Plus, it takes a lot less time !!!

They can cause an infection. Someone I know had used those cream and ended with a big infection. She was unable to walk for 2 weeks.
BurningBright Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 I just started waxing the "top portion" as well. I do it at home, and I too find it less painful if I'm in control of it. Sure it takes longer at home, but I'm more comfortable. Also, I find it hard to wax off the hair on the labia majora (it just won't come out!), so I shave there. I've always found that area the easiest to shave (less nicks, etc. ) I will definitely never go back to shaving the "top portion" again. I like the weeks of not worrying "oh, do I have to shave?".

I'd love to see the difference between having a brazilian wax and plucking out hairs one by one. I expecially wonder if the resulting effect will be exactly the same(I guess so but you never know). And if it doesn't cost a lot it will save me a lot of time. It's just that the idea of getting it without my underwear on to me is *way* more embarassing than getting a pap smear. (Pap smears actually don't embarass me at all.) Btw.....I have to get a pap smear next monday. My gynecologist is female but this time it will be with a different gynecologist (male)because it is a pap smear I don't have to pay for, I get it for free. I am not really confortable at the idea of being visited by a male gynecologist, but I guess it is time I get over it. He's just a doctor. But there is a thought that is worrying me.... Do you think it is rude/unappropriate going to the gynecologist when you are totally hairless down there? I was stupid not to think about it before, but now it's too late to grow back the hair.

Thinkalot Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Yes. If the hair is too short, it won't come away as cleanly. So if you shave, you'll need to let it grow back a bit first. Not sure how long you'd need to wait. Couple of weeks maybe.

Just call up a salon in the phone book that says they offer Brazilian's. Then ask about their qualifications, years experience, etc. ~BurningBright
