Ross MwcFan Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I'm guessing that people like myself would have a much better chance with an alpha female since they would come on to us and do the chasing. I'm not about to go off and find some, but I was just curious, as it's nice to have it as an option. Or then again maybe I would go off and find some, just to see if any would show any interest in me and ask for my number.
ThatDudeXO Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012  They don't hang out at designated public places. You just happen to meet them like any other woman, so don't be a pusssshyy and go out and try your luck with some ladies you find attractive.
somedude81 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 ROFL! I'm sorry Ross. You, me and any other hard luck guy isn't going to have a chance with an alpha female. Go read some of FrustratedStandards posts and try to figure out if you have a chance with her.
NeverDated Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Trick question, because women with those traits typically only engage men who make the first move.
Author Ross MwcFan Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Trick question, because women with those traits typically only engage men who make the first move. I also guess that most would probably only be into really really alpha guys.

Content Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Trick question, because women with those traits typically only engage men who make the first move. The alpha women i know all made the first move on their current bf/husband
PlumPrincess Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 ROFL! I'm sorry Ross. You, me and any other hard luck guy isn't going to have a chance with an alpha female. So, so, so true. Go read some of FrustratedStandards posts and try to figure out if you have a chance with her. I'm not sure what an alpha female is, but I imagine them to complain less about men and to be more aggressive when it comes to what they want.
Imported Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I think you have a basic misconception here. The women that chase after a guy, well that usually has more to do with the guy. 1
Author Ross MwcFan Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) And what defines an alpha guy? Are you short changing yourself by self-applying a social label? I can't help the fact that I know that I'm not an alpha male. I don't really see how that is short changing myself. Edited May 3, 2012 by Ross MwcFan
NeverDated Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I can't help the fact that I know that I'm not an alpha male. I don't really see how that is short changing myself. I agree with Imported. There's a lot of misconception floating around. Like I said in the other thread on this, self-applying these labels removes agency. In actuality, the terms apply to constantly shifting "pack" dynamics in which alphas/betas are perpetually shifting spots. There is, supposedly, a third group - the betas that vied for an alpha position, failed miserably and are perpetually relegated to being a lower caste. +1 for modern society - switch "packs" and it's not longer a problem. If you decide you are not an alpha male, then you're not. This is why self-applying the label removes agency - it's similar to an obese person saying, "Well, I'm fat." Once you have defined what "alpha" is, and have decided there is no "you" in that bulleted list, you're screwed.
Oxy Moronovich Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 What the hell is an alpha female? Never heard of that term.

At least admitting that you're not alpha will mean that if you desire to be aplha, you can try and strive for that. If you make yourself believe you're an alpha when you're not, you wont strive for it, and so therefore just continue to be a delusional beta male who thinks he's alpha, which is a lot worse than a beta who's at living in the real world. To be honest I don't know whether I am beta or omega, but I know I'm not alpha.

Are Alpha Females Healthier Than Their Counterparts? | Psychology Today Alpha females have intrinsic characteristics—aside from being competitive, controlling, and more aggressive, they are also born healthier, more energetic, and more resilient.
Oxy Moronovich Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Are Alpha Females Healthier Than Their Counterparts? | Psychology Today Feminist BS. Don't listen to this, Ross. Alpha Females don't exist.
NeverDated Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Telling myself that I am an alpha male wont make me one. Not what I said. Telling yourself you are not an alpha male guarantees you won't be one. I was not suggesting disillusioning yourself - that's similar to an obese person claiming they have Kate Moss's body - but that resigning yourself to your fate is self-sabotaging. There is a huge difference between saying, "I am not [x]" and saying, "I wish to foster these qualities of [x] that I currently don't have." 1

Feelin Frisky Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Hey Ross, Angela Merkel? Doesn't get much more alpha than that. 1

Okay, but it's kinda hard to not see yourself as anything, when you've got to be something. I still stand by what I said, that by recognising you aren't an alpha male will enable you to work towards being like that if that's what you want.
SarahRose Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I can't help the fact that I know that I'm not an alpha male. I don't really see how that is short changing myself. because you labeled yourself so that gives you an easy out for not trying. have you tried counseling? 1

But saying that you wish to foster those alpha qualities that you don't have is admiting to yourself that you aren't aplha.
wwwjd Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 where? for me, it was: 1. my boss 2. at a training session 3. church group thing 4. FOAF - friend of a friend
Oxy Moronovich Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Ross, an alpha female cannot exist. An alpha is somebody who their peers revere and wanna emulate. Female relationships do not work that way. Whenever a woman stands out above other women, other women will do everything in their power to cut that woman down. She will be despised be her peers. Therefore, an alpha female cannot exist. You'd be better off trying to find the Lochness Monster or Sasquatch. Unlike alpha females, those creatures exist.
Author Ross MwcFan Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 because you labeled yourself so that gives you an easy out for not trying. have you tried counseling? For all you know I could be trying. Yes I'm in therapy.
