He gave me the bull**** lines "i miss you, I'm glad your not dating, let's go slow and see where it goes" then I don't hear from him and I haven't been contacting either. Just recently he commented on photos of mine own Facebook then sent me a text later that night wondering why I was friends with one of his ex gfs that I've been friends with since last September. I haven't contacted him back but what does all this mean?

Philosoraptor Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Sounds like he is keeping you interested enough as a backup incase his first plan doesn't work out. I would give him the breakup he wanted and just stop responding, then find an emotional adult to be in a relationship with. 1

I think the same thing though that he's just trying to keep me as back up but I'm not even an option anymore lolol. Why can't people just be honest ?? 1

I don't know if there's another girl involved I'm sure he is looking for something better but really the guy doesn't even have a place of his own no life goals just wants to go with the wind so to speak. It hurts when someone tries to make you their back up plan though

Then finally 10 months later I just said you know what? We're done. Don't contact me for small talk! When u wanna be in a real relationship you can call me! He was shocked.its been 2 months last time we talked. And from what I hear he wants me back

He won't fully commit to you but gives you just enough to sit around and pine for him. And his plan is working. I believe that when you miss someone you want to be around them rather than create more space and distance. You know the answers. It's hard to fathom why people do the things they do. People will manipulate and abuse, when they know they can get away with it. Why they do it is not the question but more so why would you stand for it?
