paloma22 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Hi all, So I am venturing out into dating again after being totally blown off by some guy that led me on for weeks (see other thread)... Anyways, I met this new guy about a month ago on OkCupid. I contacted him because i don't have a picture up. We went for a walk and it went well, and since then we have emailed because we have both been busy, away etc. Fast forward a month and we go for drinks Sunday night. It went well, seemed to be fun and at the end of the night he kissed me in the street (not quite expecting that but anyways). Tonight I am at an art class and it just so happens to be by his apartment. So i text him that I'm having coffee and he asks if i want company? I said, sure why not. Anyways, after coffee he offered to drive me to my car/ come up to his place for a drink...I said no thanks but we will see each other soon. Long story short: Am I playing this OK? I don't want to seem overly interested, and I want him to pursue me. I also want to have gone on several dates before we hook up or anything (made that mistake recently). So should I stop all contact and let him do the work now? Any advice for me? I'm terrible at 'smart' dating/ not getting emotionally attached. Thanks
Philosoraptor Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 If you're interested then don't play games. Good for you on sticking to your guns and not doing anything you might regret later.
Mr Coach Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I agree with previous poster, try to stay away from "playing games". You don't want to be too needy and pushy for obvious reasons, but you shouldn't be afraid to express your feelings, little by little (as you progress in letting him know how you feel, you'll be able to calculate how fast you should escalate this by the way he feels about you). Keeping your feelings for each other on a reasonably synchronized level is the best. If you're not getting anything back when you express how you feel, you obviously don't wanna go off telling him "I think I love you!" too soon, that'll only set him running!
