There's some of you had never even considered online dating?

Another questions, no one's joined a site, just so they could see what's out there? Just out of curiosity?

I'm referring to those that are SINGLE> :)

I joined POF just to check it out for about 2 hrs just for fun. Put up 2 pics and didnt write anything in the profile. I sent like 25 msgs only got like 2-3 replies. Seemed too much work for me and i deleted it. Honestly i would much rather approach a girl IRL rather then send all these msgs to a girl i might or might not like in real life.

I've looked into it and tried it several times over the years, I've just never had any luck with it. OTH, I don't have much problem getting dates in real life. So in my case, it's simply a matter of doing what works best for me.

Apparently I am better in real life than I am on the internet!

I've had a profile on OKC for a couple of years. I've never sent a message or received one.

I tried it for a few years but found that it catered to individuals with certain attributes and characteristics...more often than not physical traits...so I felt at a distinct disadvantage...I've been happier since I've stopped...

As one of the 'old-timer' OLD'ers, there was once a time when it was a new frontier and people with the means and interest to own computers and subscribe to the internet were out and about meeting new people in a genuine and sincere fashion. The real life dating part was still what it was, dependent on the same factors which have always made or broken relationships but my experiences over the first three years I used OLD, eventually meeting my exW through it, were overwhelmlingy positive.

I guess evolution hasn't been kind to OLD, especially for the younger generations. Folks my age who still use it have, so far anyway, appeared to be more like 'old-timers'. YMMV>

Dude you're totally ripped and in the service. Online dating is like tailored to people like you.

As for OP, I tried it, failed miserably and moved on. Married now so it doesn't matter.

You have to create a profile just to search most of these dating websites now, which is a pain. So I will just create an empty one to see if I want to join or not.

You can save time by looking at the bottom of the page to see which company owns the site. They generally own several so you only need to join and subscribe to one to gain access to their entire database.

I never did it because I always felt online dating caters to men who are white, and tall. And I am not.

And after learning more about the way online dating works through the women of Loveshack I HOPE TO GOD that I never have to resort to it, at least in the traditional sense.

I have considered getting an account just to message a few women that piqued my interest through their profiles.

I looked at one, once ... it felt like being a kid again, going to the circus ... what with all the freaks.

I saw few profiles that i really liked, and as internet dating has made every woman out there feel like she is shopping, it is simply NOT worth it for a man.

Are you suggesting I use shirtless douche pics...?

I have met enough women on the street plus reading some of the stuff on here would make me not want to try it even if I were single.

The outcome?

Either I didn't find them physically attractive, or they had kids, or they were too old, or I just didn't have enough guts to meet them.

Do it. Pay attention to your reply rate and the number of unsolicited messages you get, not what women say they do or don't like.
