sweetheart5381 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I went on my first date last night, 3 months after my b/u. I was so worried that I would think constantly about the ex, talk too much about him, or compare this new gentleman friend to him, etc. I didnt even give the ex a thought My date and I had such a great time, chatted non-stop for hrs, like we knew each other for yrs - definitely a connection. So, for all of you folks out there that think no one else will compare to your ex, have hope... they dont have to compare, you can have a brand new spark and enjoy it 4
january2011 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 With some things you just have to dip your toe into the water and see what happens - you don't really know you're ready to date again until you actually date again. Well done on surviving your first post-breakup date!
Author sweetheart5381 Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 Thanks That first date went so well that I decided to go out on another one last night (different man). Another great night! Lots of chemistry, great conversation... 2 very different men but both equally interesting In fact, the only thought of my ex afterwards was how these 2 gentlemen made me feel so attractive, they were attentive to me, like I was the only woman in the room. They were warm and affectionate - the complete opposite of my ex. Now I know what I was really missing in that relationship. The single life is pretty damn good now that I know I can enjoy it completely!
ThatDudeXO Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Really happy for you! Congrats I guess! My first date ended up in haunting me a little, so I'm holding off of dating until I'm healed! You have helped motivate me a little
Author sweetheart5381 Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 Really happy for you! Congrats I guess! My first date ended up in haunting me a little, so I'm holding off of dating until I'm healed! You have helped motivate me a little Thank you I can imagine that if circumstances of a date perhaps reminded you of the ex then it could become uncomfortable. You will find that lil spark with someone new! It may just be a lil one, but it's far better than sitting home alone thinking of the past. Funny, my first date this weekend gave me his theory of living life. "Live in the present. You can't change the past and you can't predict the future. Enjoy right now." Words of wisdom
