vanillang Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 My Boyfriend (Tim) .. never calls me. And the thing is, i really like him. And i know he likes me too. I can tell, i just don't understand... because the thing is, we never really talk. I mean, he calls to get together and stuff, just never to say "hi" or anything. Even though i'm not a huge phone person, i think it would be nice for him to call once in a while, to show he cares. I'm not saying i expect just him to call me countless times- i call him, he's just never home when i call. I feel like whenever we talk, we never really "talk" - we just talk about superficial stuff, nothing about us or deep stuff. I think it's because i'm afraid to tell him a lot of stuff because i like him so much and i'm nervous he will think what i am saying is dumb. I don't know what to say to him - has anyone else been in a similar situation, or know what to say to him??
Phelly Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 I think there comes a point when you just have to trust in the guy...that is, trust that he will understand what you're telling him. I understand that you like him a lot but if the relationship is a serious one, then there must come a time when he has to see the side of you that you don't let just 'anyone' see. It takes a while to garner that kind of trust, but if you can show him who you truly are(deep conversations), and he is OK with it, it will bring you closer. If he is NOT ok with it, then he isn't the right guy for you anyway. But at least you'll know the relationship is superficial If you feel that you cannot trust him enough to "tell him stuff", then maybe it's just not time yet. But if you wait too long, the relationship could wither due to lack of trust/closeness.
