CrazyDiamond424 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 So I'm gonna spare you guys the story. Quick summary: 4 year relationship has suffered 1 break-up and 2 "breaks" in the span of 5 months. I am currently on the 2nd break. I am considering dropping out at this point. I cannot concentrate and the semester is over in 3 weeks so theres no time for me to recover. I have missed class the last 2 weeks. I tried to force myself and sit through lectures and homework but it is pointless. I need advice. Should I risk getting Fs on my transcrips or should I drop out till next semester. ( Im already on academic probation)
darkmoon Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) change college or school, sorry but you will not be free of the memories til then, I know what you are going thru (I am a woman over forty so have seen life) please advise your college or school principal of all this, or I will speak to them here, you were unlucky in love and now your studies/concentration are being affected, nobody could handle what you are trying to handle and study properly too, move on and leave, poor you xx Edited April 26, 2012 by darkmoon
budley12 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I almost took the last semester off due to my BU but im glad I didn't. I have missed a total of around 20 classes (oops), but my teachers know i am going through a rough time. I hope they will take that into consideration. I would recommend talking with your professors and just letting them know you are going through a hard time and you are thinking of dropping out... if they know this they may be willing to work with you.
Nohbody Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Don't get Fs, drop your classes until you feel better. If you need to go do something entirely different - go do something else completely. Go get an internship or something if you can and try to work that as much as possible - or just go do something you've always wanted to go do. If it takes more than a semester - give yourself that time. It will pay off in the long run.
