The money she owes me is a small amount for me, and I really don't need it, but it's the principle of the thing you see. I feel like she is just walking over me again and I can't stand that. On the other hand I'm not sure suing her and going through all that hassle is going to help either, I just want to put this behind me. Sometimes I feel like revenge and other times like letting it go. Here is the text messages between us: I have ur money...Where do I send it too? 9-477: Or deposit it to boa...? 9-477: Helloo...? 9-02: 211 . Address envelope to Mr. Leon. 7: I have it made out to you already! 9: Thats fine send it to my paralegals address. The envelope needs to be addressed to Mr. Leon. The money order to . 589-4977:Why a different name? 349-0259:He is keeping track of your payments to me. Make the MO out to me and keep your receipts. 7:Who is leon? 9:Mr. Leon works for local attorney here. On envelope put Mr. Leon followed by the address I gave you. 7:Have mr. leon call me plz 7:Or I can call him doesnt matter 349-0259:He works for me not you. Sue or not, thats just not in her capabilities. And youre not any better for making it complicated.
Mr Scorpio Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Based on my limited understanding of legal matters, an attorney isn't going to simply call and threaten a lawsuit against a person who owes you money. What is in it for them? Even if you do take legal action, you're looking at small claims court, where to my understanding, lawyers are not involved.
Star Gazer Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I'm assuming by small sum of money you mean something that would be handled in small claims court. Depending on the jurisdiction and amount, an attorney typically can't be involved in those cases anyway.

Then it looks like one person is 7 and the other is 9 but then 9 says they have two surprises and gives one and then 7 gives the other. WTF? From what I see, she has the money. She wants to send it to you. You are trying to make it difficult so that she doesn't send it to you so you can hurt her by suing her. THis doesn't even belong in the "Coping" section.

I understand it and had the opportunity to pull at least a 50k judgement against my ex, yet I let her off the hook. People gave me the "you're just letting her win" line but I knew I was making the right decision for me. I would never feel good about ruining her financially, likely forever. If you know you don't need it then why is it so important to you? It seems like you just want to get her back for hurting you and the "high" from revenge is but temporary, but the shame from your actions is everlasting. 1
