Ok let me start from the beginning.

I'm on linkedin, the professional networking site and I was looking at profiles of people who had similar background which is "career counseling". So I viewed this woman's profile and the next day she sent me a invitation request to connect on linkedin. So I was like "cool" it never hurts to have more connections. So she saw that I was seeking employment and wanted to email me so information on networking events in the philly area.

So I got the email and I asked her a question about a certain career path I wanted to take. She responded to my question with..."Is it ok if I call you tomorrow?" Now I thought that was a bit odd since we barely now each other but I was like OK it can't hurt.

So she called today and I wasn't near my phone and she left a message saying this below

"I'm going to be leaving shortly but I will be glad to talk with you this evening so you can give me a call at HOME. I may or may not pick up the call but I want you to feel free to call me. So you can just leave a message and let me know how late I call you."

HUH???????????. All of this because I asked her a question about a new career path? Is this woman trying to secretly get to know me on that OTHER LEVEL???-lol Why would a woman who I just met on Linkedin give me her HOME NUMBER and wants to know how late she can call me???

Now can you imagine if this was a GUY doing this to a woman what would be going through her mind??

Somethin's up

The fact that she called you the first time - I can understand because somethings are just too much to type out and its just easier to call someone and explain it.

BUT...the call me at home stuff, just seems a little much.

I wouldn't go that far for someone I don't know.

But do you even have a picture up on Linked? Cuz unless she thought you were cute, what would be turning her on? a resume?

Yeah we both have photos on Linkedin and she just heard my voice on my introductory voicemail-lol She is a career counselor at a college here in philly but the fact that she couldn't get in touch with me while she was at her office I was so shocked that she wants me to call her at HOME??-lol

I just figured that she would say..."you can call me back at the office between the hours of ...." Not call me at home and leave a message and tell me how late I can call you. LOL

To me, it seems like she's going a step more than I'd expect - but hey! maybe she's just nice and really likes her job.

hehe, it still seems kinda weird to me.

So are you gonna call her?

keep us posted, I'm curious now. ;)

Agreed. There's no reason for her to give you her home number if it's strictly business. I'm sure there's a 'dark' side to LinkedIn where people are trawling for dates, but from what I've seen, it's mostly strictly professional.

well I guess either way it's a good thing because I'm unemployed and single

LOL

And she must not be involved because if she was she wouldn't be telling me to call her at home.

Unless she noticed my pic on a dating site. That's my only explanation

haha, yeah if she's cute, you'd definitely be getting 2 birds with one stone - this really could work out!

definitely must be single, cuz yeah she wouldn't be giving you a home number otherwise.

oooh, the possibilities ;)
